Proof Craft Kitchen and Cocktails: Where Flavor Meets Atmosphere in Star, ID

Proof has become one of our go-to spots. My husband and I come almost every Monday evening for a late dinner, and we’ve tried quite a few different things on the menu—everything has been really enjoyable. It’s our date night, so we actually appreciate that the service isn’t rushed or overbearing. The staff gives us space, but they’re always attentive when it comes to refills and checking in at the right moments. My personal favorite is the buttermilk ranch fried chicken—crispy, flavorful, and super satisfying. My husband loves the Bee Sting pizza and the balsamic steak salad. We also really enjoy the crispy glazed Brussels sprouts, though they can be a little inconsistent—sometimes amazing, sometimes just okay. Still, we’re so glad to have a place like this right here in Star. It’s just five minutes from home, and we know we can count on a great, relaxed dinner close by.

Food and service were very good. Prices were fair and not too expensive for a sit down restaurant. They have a decent variety of food with pizza, sandwiches, pasta and tacos

As a native, I'm so excited that there are so many new restaurants that are popping up, and always make it a point to try something new. I was very enticed by the descriptions on the menu, that's what I look for, and had many things that I wanted to try! We ended up getting a few apps for lunch: the Proof Stone Bread, the Loaded Potato Spring Rolls, and like a soup of the day with a salad. The Stone Bread was really good and I enjoyed the warm mashed potatoes in the spring rolls . The soup was a clam chowder, and that was also really good. Overall, I loved the service and the atmosphere! The food was tasty and high quality but felt it just needed a little more to be exceptional. This by no means is meant in a bad way, food tastes are subjective and I would still recommend swinging in and giving it a shot to see what you think! If in the area I would definitely go back. Be different and try something new :).

We have ordered from Proof before and it’s always great but tonight we actually sat down! The place was lively with great music! The food was perfection. We started with the Brussels sprouts. YUM. I had the ahi salad which was refreshing and filling. Husband had the salmon sandwich with a salad and loved it. Lexi was our server and she was on point and sweet as can be. We can’t wait to come back in!

Proof Kitchen and Cocktails is an absolute must-try if you're in the Star/Meridian area. From the moment you step inside, the warm, inviting atmosphere makes you feel like a regular. The menu is outstanding, with a focus on locally-sourced, seasonal ingredients from farmers and purveyors in the Treasure Valley. But you can't leave without trying one of their craft cocktails! I had the "43 Revolver" with local Seven Devils Whiskey, that was so refreshingly unique. They even have an entire "Zero Proof" mocktail menu for non-drinkers What really sets Proof apart is the incredible attention to detail and focus on sourcing the highest quality local ingredients. The chef/owner Bryan has created such an exceptional yet unpretentious dining experience. The food is absolutely to die for. So don’t miss out!

My husband and I went for date night and were thoroughly impressed! The wait staff were friendly, fun, and attentive. The vibe was lovely and open. And the flavors of the dishes we ordered were unique, savory, and absolutely satisfying. We will definitely be back!

Amazing EVERYTHING We have returned and let me tell you it just keeps getting better. The food is always hot, and the service is fast and top-notch. At our last visit, we actually got to talking to our server (we were there close to closing, and it was not busy)and found out she was the owners daughter. What an amazing young lady. After our meal we moved up to the bar to watch football, the cooks were cleaning the kitchen area and they knew how to clean! The bartender was wiping down every bottle behind the bar. Very clean establishment. We will continue to eat here.

First time here, 1,000% coming back. Waitress did a wonderful job, wish I remembered her name. Got a couple happy hour drinks and a lot of happy hour appetizers. They were all delicious and we didn't leave anything behind. The loaded potato spring rolls were amazing. Wings were delicious, a little on the smaller side but you get plenty. Cauliflower had a nice flavor and the homemade roll with lemon arugula pesto and balsamic is devine. Really really really good bang for your buck especially happy hour. Take advantage of it! And tip generously
